List of Border Collie Rescues in the United States and Canada
The following lists are rescues focusing specifically on border collies or herding breeds. Many of these rescues pull dogs from overcrowded shelters, or take in border collies surrendered directly by their owners. Some of these rescue groups will only adopt out locally, while some have a further reach of 3-4 different states or even further. If you're interested in a dog, it's important to make sure your location is within the adoption radius for that particular rescue.
If you can't find a border collie specific rescue in your area, or don't see a suitable dog, you may be able to submit an application and be put on a waiting list for a suitable dog when one comes in. You can also check your local animal shelter, as border collies may come in from time to time at an all breed shelter or rescue group. Petfinder.com is another great resource to see if there are border collies nearby looking for homes.
